Ripple Farm Box Scheme
Wonderful healthy vegetables
- all in a box.
|
Ripple Farms Organics box scheme aims to provide its customers with a seasonal range of fresh, locally grown vegetables, salad and, occasionally fruit, each week. Approximately 95% of the produce is grown by ourselves near Canterbury, Kent with the remaining 5% sourced as locally as possible. Boxes are delivered to designated drop off points within a 20-mile radius and door-to-door in Wye and surrounding villages. Customers can also collect direct from the farm.
We produce a monthly newsletter for our customers to let them know what's in the box and recipe suggestions and encourage feedback about what they do and don't like. We also hold an open day every year so customers can see for themselves where all their lovely vegetables come from.
What's in the Box?
The box generally contains 7/9 different seasonal items.
The contents are chosen each week to give a balance
of root crops, greens and salad although the weather
places certain limitations on our choice. Seasonal produce
means our customers look forward to their early summer
strawberries and late summer tomatoes but don't expect
them year round.
The farm includes polytunnels for growing tomatoes,
aubergines, peppers, basil in the summer months and
salad and herbs during the winter.
Year round staples are potatoes, carrots and onions.
Mixed salad bags feature for most of the year with lettuce
frequent through the summer.
We realize that not every-one likes everything and
we allow 2 dislikes per box. We can replace them with
a staple of your choice subject to availability.
Box sizes & Prices
We pack three different box sizes and also offer the
choice of a fortnightly box if preferred:
Small £7
Medium £9
Large £12
Reduce price by £1 if you collect your box from the farm.
Our policy is to price our produce as near as we can
to supermarket prices. Frequently we are cheaper and prices are regularly checked.
Packaging
We ask that you return your box each week for re-use to minimise packaging. We use paper bags and cardboard punnets for some items and poly bags for salad, lettuce and some greens. Other than that all items are packed loose in your box. (We are researching alternatives to plastic bags).
Methods of Payment
Payment is monthly, in advance, by cheque sent direct
to the farm, or by Standing Order or BACS. A statement
of Account will be put in your box at the end of each
month detailing any credit or debit on your account.
Customers who collect direct from the farm may pay weekly
on collection.

Boxes are delivered on a Thursday (times vary, contact us for details) and

If you are interested in starting a new drop-off please
contact
us to find out if your location fits
with our existing delivery round. For economic reasons
we need to deliver a minimum of six to ten boxes to
any given drop-off point. However, we encourage larger
drops by offering a discount to the householder based
on the number of boxes delivered (applies when 7 or
more boxes delivered that week).
We do not ask our drop-off co-ordinators to deal with
any monies or messages - this is all done direct to
the farm.
